Students Protest After Trespass Incident at Lakhimpur Polytechnic Girls’ Hostel

Tension rose at Lakhimpur Polytechnic, Bihpuria, after intruders entered the Kanaklata Girls’ Hostel, leaving the boarders feeling unsafe. Despite complaints, incidents of trespassing have reportedly been ongoing. On November 6, miscreants allegedly entered the hostel at night, drinking and smoking on the premises, with evidence left behind the next morning.

In response, hostel inmates staged a sit-in protest, joined by other students. They criticized the administration’s lack of action, citing the absence of a permanent warden, poor security, and malfunctioning CCTV cameras. The students demanded better safety measures from the authorities.
