NF Railway Nears Completion of Dibrugarh Electrification Project

The Principal Chief Electrical Engineer of Northeast Frontier Railway inspected the electrification work on the Mariani-Simaluguri-Dibrugarh sections, concluding the two-day review today.

Once completed, Dibrugarh will connect to Guwahati and beyond via electric traction, allowing trains like the Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express to run on electric power. The Simaluguri-Tinsukia section’s electrification is set to complete by March 25.

The Lumding-Dimapur-Furkating-Mariani sections are already operational. The project aims to enhance efficiency, reduce diesel dependence, and lower carbon emissions, significantly boosting connectivity in the Northeast.
