Assam Govt Transfers Three Top Police Officers

The Assam government has transferred three senior police officers in public interest. Mihirjit Gayan, SP of Lakhimpur, is now Commandant of the 4th Assam Commando Battalion in Geleki. Gunendra Deka, formerly SP (Security-II) for the Chief Minister, replaces him as Lakhimpur SP. Dr. Bidyut Das Boro, the outgoing Commandant, takes over as SP (Security-II) for the CM. The transfers take effect immediately.
