Assam Govt Sanctions ₹190 Cr for Free Medicines; Approves 2% DA Hike

The Assam Cabinet has approved ₹190 crore for free drug distribution in government hospitals under the ‘Free Drugs Services’ scheme. A helpline (986451430) is also launched for patients to access prescribed medicines. Additionally, the cabinet approved a 2% DA hike for state employees and pensioners, effective from January 1, 2025.
