AASU Launches Digital Drive to Save Assam’s Endangered Languages
AASU signed an MoU with a Guwahati foundation to digitally preserve three endangered languages—Khamyang, Tai Phake, and Singpho—under the “Digitalizing Assam” initiative. The five-month pilot project aims to archive rare literature and prevent language extinction. Guided by expert Palash Kumar Nath, it emphasizes community participation and public access. AASU also plans to discuss language revitalization under the Assam Accord’s Clause VI.
