Ten DHD-U Militants Surrender in Karbi Anglong
Ten members of the newly-formed militant group Dimasa Halan Dui United (DHD-U) surrendered to Karbi Anglong police at Dhansiri. The group, aiming to revive separatist activities, was tracked since April. Police recovered arms, including an AK-47, pistols, a grenade, and ammunition. The surrendered youths expressed willingness to rejoin the mainstream. Authorities see this as a major step toward deterring insurgency in Assam’s hill districts.
