State Government Submits ₹183 Crore Flood Plan for Bahini Basin to ADB
The state government has proposed a ₹183 crore flood management project to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Bahini basin. The plan includes widening the National Highway drain from 1.2–1.5m to 4m to prevent monsoon overflows and repairing old diversion infrastructure built in the 1990s.
A bioremediation facility is planned to treat polluted water, and erosion control measures will be added along key stretches. In Rukminigaon, 4.82 km of drains will be upgraded, along with a new 0.54 km trunk drain along Patkai Path.
ADB will review an updated environmental report before construction begins.
