Rangiya Division Achieves 100% Electrification under NFR

The Rangiya Division of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has achieved full electrification, becoming the second division in the zone to do so after Alipurduar. Following a statutory inspection and successful trial run on the 84.57 km Gauripur–Abhayapuri section, the division is now ready for commercial electric train operations.

NFR officials highlighted that electrification will enhance speed, reliability, and cost-efficiency, while supporting Indian Railways’ goal of net-zero carbon emissions. This marks a major step toward sustainable, eco-friendly rail transport in the Northeast.
