Centre Seeks Action Against Ex-Forest Chief M.K. Yadava for Illegal Land Diversion

The Centre has urged the Assam government to take action against former PCCF M.K. Yadava for illegally diverting forest land in Hailakandi for a police battalion without due approval. The Environment Ministry found his response to a show-cause notice untenable and termed it a forest law violation. Yadava also faces similar allegations in Geleky. Legal proceedings have been authorised, and an action taken report has been requested.
