Protests Erupt in Alomganj Over Proposed Eviction for Power Project

Mass protests have erupted in Alomganj, Dhubri district, against a planned eviction for a thermal power project under the ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’ initiative. Locals, including Rabha and Garo communities, claim generational rights to the land held by the Rangamati Cooperative Society. Authorities argue many are illegal settlers from erosion-hit areas.
