Virat Kohli Breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s ODI Chase Record as India Defeat New Zealand

Auckland: Indian batting star Virat Kohli created history by surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most runs in ODI chases during India’s five-wicket victory over New Zealand in the rain-affected first ODI on Wednesday, November 4. Kohli smashed 74 off just 51 deliveries, taking his tally to 8,741 runs in ODI run chases, overtaking Tendulkar’s previous record of 8,720 runs. India successfully chased a revised target of 143 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Shubman Gill played a crucial supporting role, scoring 37 off 56 balls as the duo registered their sixth century partnership in ODIs.
