Gaurav Gogoi Urges PM Modi to Resolve Barak Valley Connectivity Crisis

APCC chief Gaurav Gogoi wrote to PM Modi over repeated disruptions to the Lumding–Badarpur rail link, worsened by a recent landslide near Mupa–Dihakho. With Barak Valley cut off, Gogoi called for urgent action to restore road and rail links, regulate high airfares, and boost regional connectivity. He proposed a multi-pronged plan including double-lining the rail route, building bypass roads, and reintroducing affordable flights. A new 160-km Lanka–Silchar rail line is under active consideration.
