CM Sarma: No Immediate Worry Over China’s Brahmaputra Dam

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said there’s no immediate concern over China’s Brahmaputra dam project, citing that the river mainly receives water from Bhutan, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam. Speaking in Guwahati, he noted the dam’s impact remains unclear and mentioned two scientific views — reduced water could harm biodiversity or help control floods. Sarma added that the Centre is likely in talks with China and will handle the matter.
