Eviction Notices Issued in Nagaon’s Hati Chong Grazing Reserve

Nagaon Sadar Circle Officer issued eviction notices to alleged encroachers in Hati Chong mouza, demanding immediate vacation of government grazing land. Similar notices were served in Bogoriguri, Goroimari, and parts of Samaguri. Locals claim they’ve lived there for decades without formal documents. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said voluntary evacuation is preferred and noted over 1.5 lakh bighas could be reclaimed if Uriamghat is cleared.
