Saikia Urges Court Action Over Assam Govt’s Fiscal Violations

Opposition leader Debabrata Saikia has urged the Gauhati High Court to take suo motu action under Article 226 against the Assam government for allegedly violating the AFRBM Act. He claims unbudgeted cash transfer schemes are pushing the state toward a debt crisis. Saikia seeks a CAG audit and a stay on new freebies not approved in the Budget.
