NCW Chairperson Reviews Women’s Safety Measures in Assam, Launches AI-Based Digital Literacy Drive

A delegation led by NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar is on a two-day visit to Assam to review women’s safety issues. On the first day, the team met with Chief Secretary Ravi Kota and DGP Harmeet Singh to discuss crimes against women, child abuse, and cyber threats.

Rahatkar praised the decline in crimes against women in Assam and launched “Yashoda AI”, a digital safety programme to boost AI literacy among women. Discussions also addressed deepfake-related cybercrimes and improving protection mechanisms. More meetings are scheduled for Day 2.
