Assam LoP Urges Amit Shah to Review Border Management

Assam Opposition leader Debabrata Saikia has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, seeking stronger border management along the Assam–Bangladesh border. He flagged recurring “pushback” operations, questioning BSF’s effectiveness and coordination with Assam Police. Saikia warned of legal and diplomatic risks and urged a review of BSF strategies, tech-driven surveillance, and clear SOPs for handling infiltrators, along with proactive engagement with Bangladesh.
