AASU Opposes Appointment of Retired Teachers in Model Colleges

AASU, along with nine teachers’ bodies, opposed the Assam government’s plan to appoint retired teachers in new model colleges. The student body demanded priority for qualified unemployed youth through permanent Assistant Professor posts with UGC pay. It urged the government to restrict retired teachers to mentor or visiting roles and submitted resolutions against the policy.
