Boro and Mohilary File Second Nominations for BTC Polls

On the final day of nominations for the September 22 Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections, two key rivals entered the fray with renewed vigor. United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) chief Pramod Boro filed his nomination from Dotma, while Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) supremo Hagrama Mohilary submitted his papers from Debargaon.
Both leaders are contesting from two seats each, setting the stage for a high-stakes political battle. Campaign rhetoric has already intensified—Boro emphasized development, peace, and inclusive politics as his party’s agenda, while Mohilary projected BPF’s dominance, predicting his party would secure more than 20 seats.
With both leaders entering each other’s strongholds, the contest promises to be one of the most closely watched battles of the BTC polls.
