Kamarkuchi Chosen for Zubeen Garg’s Samadhi, State Funeral on Sept 23

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced Kamarkuchi near Sonapur as the site for Zubeen Garg’s samadhi, respecting his family’s wish for proximity to Guwahati. The state funeral will be held on September 23, with NH-37 closed till 2 pm. Sarma criticised VIP culture during public homage, directing equal access for all. He also announced a 20% Puja bonus for tea garden workers, Rs 260 crore for Assam Police, salary hikes for science facilitators, and APSC prelims in Assamese.
