IMD Issues Red Alert for Heavy Rainfall in Assam

The IMD has warned of heavy to extremely heavy rain in several Assam districts, including Kokrajhar and Chirang under red alert. Gusty winds up to 50 kmph may disrupt normal life, causing flooding, landslides, traffic issues, and crop damage. Guwahati faces risk of waterlogging and power outages on October 5–6. Residents are advised to stay cautious and follow SDMA guidelines.
