Contract Awarded to Resume Majuli-Jorhat Bridge Work

The stalled Majuli-Jorhat bridge project got a boost as MoRTH awarded the balance work contract to SPS Construction India Pvt. Ltd. at ₹657.66 crore. The 6.8 km bridge, crucial for Majuli’s connectivity, had faced delays due to cost revisions. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said the project will soon resume, providing a vital all-weather link for the island.
