Low-Intensity 3.5 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Sonitpur, Assam

A 3.5 magnitude earthquake struck Assam’s Sonitpur region on Friday at 3:38 PM, at a depth of 5 km. This is the second quake in Assam this month, following a 3.3 magnitude tremor in Udalguri on October 7. The Northeast has experienced nine quakes so far in October, including events in Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim.
