Three-Doctor Panel to Conduct Postmortem of Youth Found Dead in Jorhat Lockup

A three-member medical team conducted the postmortem of 22-year-old Pritam Dutta, found dead inside Jorhat Sadar Police Station lockup on Sunday. The procedure followed NHRC norms under videography.

Pritam’s family filed an FIR accusing police of homicide. A separate unnatural death case has also been registered. The probe has been handed to Sivasagar Additional SP, who began the inquiry. District SP Shwetang Mishra assured strict action if negligence by police is proven.
