ABVP and AASU Share Key Wins in Gauhati University PGSU Election 2025-26

The Gauhati University PGSU Election 2025-26 concluded with a close contest between ABVP and AASU, recording a 59% turnout. ABVP’s Gunjan Deka won the President’s post, marking the group’s second consecutive win, while AASU’s Sidartha Sankar Hazarika secured the Vice-President’s post. ABVP’s Prabal Jyoti Sarmah became General Secretary, and AASU dominated cultural and student welfare positions. Minor clashes between supporters occurred but were quickly contained.
