Assam Govt Reshuffles Over 30 Senior Police Officers

The Assam government has transferred over 30 senior IPS and APS officers in a major police reshuffle to boost efficiency and accountability. The Home (A) Department’s order, approved by the Governor, described it as an “administrative restructuring.” Key changes include Partha Protim Das as SSP, Cachar, and Numal Mahatta as SSP, Kokrajhar. The reshuffle spans almost all regions of Assam and aims to strengthen coordination, crime prevention, and internal security. All officers have been directed to take charge immediately.
