Assam–Arunachal Bus Operators Halt Services Over Illegal Tax Demands

Bus operators running between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh have launched an indefinite strike at the Sadiya–Shantipur border, halting services to Roing. The protest follows allegations of illegal “tax” collections of ₹15,000 per bus by certain groups. Operators demand intervention from the Lower Dibang Valley administration and vow to continue the strike until the extortion stops.
