Subansiri Hydroelectric Project Gets Safety Clearance, Awaits Operation Date

The National Dam Safety Authority has cleared NHPC’s Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project after inspecting implemented safety measures. Three of the eight 250 MW turbines are ready, with a fourth expected by December. Reservoir filling has begun, with the water level now at 175 metres—enough for turbine testing. The project’s commercial operation date is yet to be decided.
