Assam Launches 11-Day ‘Oitijya’ Museum Festival to Showcase Heritage

The 11-day “Oitijya – The Museum Festival” began at the Assam State Museum, celebrating the State’s cultural heritage through exhibitions, talks, cultural performances, and workshops. Inaugurated by ITFC Minister Jogen Mohan, the event aims to make museums more accessible and promote heritage conservation. Scholars and cultural figures highlighted the importance of museums and academic collaboration in preserving traditions. Multiple special exhibitions on Assamese literature, cinema, radio history, mask art, and Muga silk were opened. The festival also saw the release of museum publications and digital platforms.
