Kaziranga Faces Water Shortage After Low Rainfall and Fewer Floods

Kaziranga National Park, usually hit by multiple floods yearly, is now facing a severe water shortage due to low rainfall. Only one flood wave occurred in June, leaving water bodies dry and affecting animal habitats. Park Director Sonali Ghosh said floods are vital for replenishing water and vegetation. Authorities have created around 20 artificial ponds and plan to add more, along with exploring solar-powered pumps to tackle the crisis.
