Bhomoraguri Ecotourism Zone Reopens, Boosting Eco-Tourism in Kaziranga

The Bhomoraguri Ecotourism Zone under the Biswanath Wildlife Division of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve has reopened for the new tourism season, promoting eco-friendly travel and community-based conservation.
Tezpur MLA Prithiraj Rava inaugurated the zone, where participants also paid tribute to Zubeen Garg for his connection to nature and Assamese culture. The event saw the participation of Eco Development Committees (EDCs) and local students, reflecting strong community involvement.
Situated near the sixth addition to Kaziranga, Bhomoraguri offers unique attractions like boat safaris at the Jia Bharali–Brahmaputra confluence, allowing visitors to spot Gangetic dolphins and occasionally gharial, amid scenic hill and forest views.
New features this season include the ‘Xihu Ethnic Restaurant’ and ‘Eco Shop’, showcasing local cuisine and handicrafts made by villagers, supporting sustainable livelihoods and deepening community engagement in wildlife conservation.
