PM Modi Arrives in Bhutan to Strengthen Bilateral Ties and Attend Key Events

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bhutan on Tuesday for a two-day official visit to boost India-Bhutan relations. He was received by Bhutanese PM Tshering Tobgay at Paro International Airport.

Modi will attend celebrations marking the 70th birth anniversary of Bhutan’s Fourth King and inaugurate the Punatsangchhu-II hydropower project, a major milestone in bilateral energy cooperation.

He will also witness the exposition of Lord Buddha’s Sacred Piprahwa Relics during Bhutan’s Global Peace Prayer Festival.

The visit underscores the nations’ deep friendship and mutual trust, central to India’s Neighbourhood First Policy.
