Ex-Army Commander Warns of Rising Radical Threats After Delhi Terror Plot Foiled

Former Eastern Command chief Lt Gen Rana Pratap Kalita (retd) said the explosives seized on November 10 could have caused 20–30 blasts, indicating a larger terror plan. He praised security forces for recovering 2,900 kg of explosives and arresting eight suspects. Kalita warned that Pakistan continues proxy warfare and radicalisation remains a major threat. He also expressed concern over rising radical elements in Bangladesh, noting its growing closeness to Pakistan and the release of jailed extremists under the caretaker government, which he said poses serious security risks for India and Assam.
