Rajasthan to Install Statue of Lachit Borphukan, May Add Him to School Textbooks

Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar announced plans to install a statue of Assamese war hero Lachit Borphukan and explore including his legacy in school textbooks. The proposal, supported by the Marwari community, aims to honour his role in the Battle of Saraighat and promote recognition of regional heroes nationwide. In return, the community suggested including Maharana Pratap in Assam’s textbooks to strengthen cultural ties.
