Hatijan Tea Estate Strike Ends After 16 Days

Workers of Hatijan tea estate have called off their 16-day strike after intervention by AASAA, ATTSA, and local MLA Terash Gowala. A meeting of ACMS, attended by the leaders, helped resolve the standoff that the district administration had failed to settle. Workers agreed to resume duty from November 20, 2025, noting the shutdown was hurting them economically. ABITA Zone I thanked the mediators and urged both sides to maintain unity. The prolonged closure has already caused significant damage to the garden, which now faces rising pest threats.
