Assam to Introduce Strict Policy to Prevent Fake Tea Garden Community Certificates

The Assam government will soon introduce a strict policy to stop the misuse of reservation benefits meant for tea garden communities. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said several people were found using fake community certificates, especially during medical admission verifications.
The government has already separated community lists for Barak and Brahmaputra Valleys to detect discrepancies. The same verification method will now apply to all government recruitments, where a 3% reservation is provided for tea garden communities.
The new policy will tighten checks while issuing and accepting certificates to ensure only genuine beneficiaries receive the benefits. Sarma said the move will improve transparency and protect the rights of tea garden youths.
