Zubeen Garg Death Inquiry Receives 39 Affidavits as Submission Window Closes

The judicial inquiry into the death of Assam’s cultural icon Zubeen Garg closed public submissions on Friday with 39 affidavits filed. Citizens, researchers, ex-servicemen and activists called for a transparent and thorough investigation into his death in Singapore.
KMSS leader Bidyut Saikia alleged political influence and demanded that the Chief Minister also record his statement before the SIT. Former soldier Dhiren Singha and several others urged justice and clarity on events surrounding the incident.
Concerns were raised over inconsistent information, delayed action by those present at the scene, and uneven enforcement. With submissions now closed, the commission will begin examining the affidavits.
