Five Detained as Tiger Bones Seized in Kaziranga Operation

Forest officials seized Royal Bengal tiger bones during a joint raid at Simaluguri Baligaon village under Gohpur in Kaziranga’s Biswanath Wildlife Division. Five individuals — Eilaram Doley, Ripun Pegu, Kerani Kaman, Pulish Kutum and Depen Pegu — were detained while allegedly attempting to sell the wildlife trophy.
Officials suspect the group has links with individuals involved in rhino poaching, indicating a possible trafficking network. An investigation is underway.
The seizure follows heightened vigilance after a suspected poacher was killed in an encounter on October 15. Authorities reaffirm their zero-tolerance stance against wildlife crimes in the Kaziranga area.
