Buddhist Groups Demand Arrest in Margherita Monk Murder Case

Buddhist organisations in the Northeast have expressed strong dissatisfaction over the delay in arresting those involved in the alleged murder of chief monk Indrabansha Mahathera Bhikkhu of Inthem Mungong Buddha Vihara. Three groups submitted memoranda to the district administration demanding speedy investigation and immediate justice.

The monk was found dead with a blood-stained axe beside him on November 23. Police confirmed they have identified a suspect but say the investigation is ongoing. Forensic teams have collected evidence, including fingerprints and the seized weapon.
