Fact-Finding Report on Tezpur University VC Submitted to Assam Governor

The Centre informed Parliament on Monday that the fact-finding committee probing allegations against Tezpur University Vice Chancellor Shambhu Nath Singh has submitted its report to Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya.

Union Minister of State for Education Dr. Sukanta Majumdar said the inquiry was led by IIT Guwahati Director Prof. Devendra Jalihal. The committee examined allegations of corruption, mismanagement and other administrative issues.

Majumdar added that Tezpur University’s rules allow the Pro-Vice Chancellor or senior-most professor to manage duties until a new VC resumes office.
