SEBI Stall at Silchar Book Fair Draws Strong Crowd, Boosts Investor Awareness

SEBI’s stall at the Assam Book Fair in Silchar has become a major attraction, offering hands-on lessons on safe investing, fraud prevention and market risks. Officials from SEBI, BSE, MCX, NSDL and financial advisors have been guiding visitors through demonstrations, charts and awareness materials.
SEBI Deputy General Manager Sukanya Banerjee said the mission is to help people invest safely by understanding risks and red flags. Over 1,500 visitors, many of them students and first-time earners, have already engaged with the stall.
Experts noted high interest from the public and emphasised the need to counter widespread misinformation. The ten-day fair, inaugurated on December 1, continues to see strong participation, with SEBI’s stall emerging as a hub for financial learning.
