Guwahati Police Recover ₹6.40 Lakh Cash, Gold Jewellery in Burglary Case; One Apprehended

Guwahati, November 4, 2026: Guwahati Police have apprehended a man in connection with a burglary case involving the theft of gold jewellery and cash. The accused has been identified as Jeherul Ali of Mazar, Sijubari, Ganapath. The operation was conducted by a team from Dispur Police Station under the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD), with assistance from Pan Bazar Police Station.

According to Guwahati Police, the team recovered and seized ₹6.40 lakh in cash, along with two pairs of gold bangles, two gold chains, one gold ball chain, one gold chain with a locket, six pairs of gold earrings and three gold rings. Four jewellery bags and two plastic boxes were also seized during the operation. Police confirmed that legal action has been initiated in connection with the case.
