Alleged Gunfire Incident Reported at Behali Wildlife Sanctuary

An incident involving alleged gunfire occurred inside Behali Wildlife Sanctuary on December 16 after Assam forest officials confronted four individuals engaged in illegal tree felling. Forest officials said the suspects fired while fleeing the area, leaving behind two machine saws. A case has been registered at Behali Police Station.

The Assam Forest Department denied any exchange of fire, while an FIR was also lodged in Arunachal Pradesh, citing competing claims. Authorities from both states have launched investigations, and further details are awaited.
