Karbi Anglong Orders Deportation of Four Declared Foreigners Ahead of Polls

The Karbi Anglong district administration has issued deportation orders against four individuals declared foreigners by the Foreigners’ Tribunal. Two of them are from Lahorijan, a sensitive border zone.

Authorities said enforcement is underway as part of efforts to curb illegal immigration and safeguard border security. The move comes ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections, with the Election Commission of India opting for a Special Revision of electoral rolls, aligned with Assam’s National Register of Citizens framework.
