Free Cancer Screening Camp Benefits Over 200 Patients in Lekhapani

A cancer screening and awareness programme with a free medical camp was organised at Phaneng Keniya in Lekhapani by the Indian Red Cross Society, Margherita Branch, bringing healthcare services to remote villages.
The camp focused on oral, breast, and cervical cancer screening, along with treatment for general, eye, child, and women’s health issues. More than 200 patients were screened, free medicines were distributed, and spectacles were provided at subsidised rates.
Supported by the Assam Cancer Care Foundation and The Hans Foundation, the initiative stressed early detection and awareness, with local residents welcoming the effort and seeking more such camps in rural areas.
