Gaurav Gogoi Slams PM Modi for Ignoring Zubeen Garg During Assam Visit

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Sunday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not mentioning late Assamese cultural icon Zubeen Garg during his recent two-day visit to Assam.

Speaking in Majuli, Gogoi said the Prime Minister attended several events but neither visited Zubeen Kshetra nor acknowledged public demands for justice. He also questioned the silence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on the issue.

Calling Garg “the voice of Assam,” Gogoi said ignoring him hurt the sentiments of the people and reiterated demands for justice and posthumous honour for the cultural icon.
