EVM First-Level Checking to Begin in Nagaon for 2026 Assam Polls

The District Election Office, Nagaon, has announced the First Level Checking (FLC) of Electronic Voting Machines ahead of the 2026 Assam Assembly elections. The process will be held from December 26, 2025, to January 7, 2026, at the Senchowa EVM warehouse.

As per Election Commission of India guidelines, over 2,800 ballot units, 3,000 control units, and 3,100 VVPATs will be technically verified by ECIL engineers. The exercise will be web-cast live, conducted under strict supervision, and followed by secure storage to ensure transparency and a free and fair election.
