Gaurav Gogoi Slams CM, Says Assam’s Identity Cannot Be Changed

APCC president and Lok Sabha Deputy Leader of the Congress Gaurav Gogoi on Saturday launched a sharp attack on Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, asserting that no statement by the CM can alter Assam’s cultural identity and unity.

In a post on X, Gogoi said Assam’s legacy—shaped by its saints, freedom fighters, and cultural icons—remains unshakable. He alleged that the Chief Minister’s remarks carry little weight and stressed that the people of Assam will stay united to protect the interests of bhumiputra, khilonjiya, and Axombaaxi communities.
