Brahmaputra Erosion Worries Locals; Pabitra Margherita Assures Support to Safai Workers

Severe erosion along the southern bank of the Brahmaputra between Desangmukh and Dikhowmukh has alarmed riverine villages and threatens the historic Ramkha Pith and Ajan Peer Durgah. Residents say repeated assurances by local MLA Akhil Gogoi and officials have yet to translate into action.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State Pabitra Margherita visited safai workers in Sivasagar, met representatives from nearby areas, and promised steps to address long-standing financial issues. He urged them to avail Aadhaar, Ayushman, and ration benefits, distributed school bags to children, and shared a meal with the community.
