Congress Seeks Police Probe After Suggestion Box Tampering Claim in Jorhat

A controversy broke out in Jorhat after APCC leader Gaurav Gogoi alleged that suggestion boxes used during the Congress outreach programme “Raijor Podulit Raijor Congress” were tampered with. Gogoi claimed chits containing public feedback were removed and torn after the event held at the Jorhat Press Club, prompting the party to seek a police investigation.

The BJP criticised the Congress over the incident, calling it a failed outreach effort and accusing the party of disrespecting public opinion. The Jorhat district Congress committee is expected to address the issue and respond to the political backlash soon.
